The City of Bizmar

Most of this information can be found on the World Map page under the Bizmar links and on other pages, but I decided to add all the Bizmar info here too for ease of use. Plus it's easier to edit here and make new additions if needed.

_________________________

Bizmar is considered the capital city of the nation of Loris. Bizmar is a filled with all manner of people from rich merchants to the poorest of beggars. Bizmar is a port city located on the small continent of Loris. The city has become a place of refuge for criminals. Since the government of Bizmar accepts anyone into their homeland, many escaped prisoners, murderers, and those of unscrupulous nature, have come from other nations to take up residency here.

Military force in the city of Bizmar seems very lax, and it obviously is. "If the people who live here want to kill themselves why should we interfere?" is the government's way of thinking. The guards that patrol the city can be easily bribed to turn their heads since most do not want to put their lives in jeopardy by getting involved anyway.

The streets of the city are filled with numerous gangs, thugs, and crimelords, all fighting amongst themselves for more power. Ogres, drow elves, dwarves, giants, and werecreatures, who keep their identity a secret, are also common here. All who walk these streets make certain they are armed and prepared to fight because disputes are as common as breathing.

The Major Crimelords of Bizmar City

At present, there are two major crimelords in Bizmar city. Tegol Denair once controlled the southwestern portion of the city. He, and a number of his minions, were killed by a group of adventurers from an earlier incarnation of forums based in the World of Variance.

A mercenary captain that worked for Tegol is now in the process of taking control of the southwest side. The man's name is Belald, and he is a half-elf. Unlike Tegol, he uses his brain and is proving to be a more dangerous adversary. Belald employs many mercenaries, mages, spies, beggars, and gangs in his new organization which numbers well over 500 members. He is an excellent swordsman, can use minor spells, and is now accompanied by at least two mercenary bodyguards at all times.

Donaldash Castel or Donal as he is usually referred to, is the second major crime-lord in Bizmar, controlling the southeastern portion of the city. He and Tegol were bitter enemies, each tying to gain more power and additional territory. Donal is now trying to get information on Belald, who has taken over Tegol's territory.

Donal was born and raised in Bizmar, making his way up to the top of the criminal ladder through shear determination and brute force. Some say he once held a mage captive for years, forcing him to teach him the art of spell casting, but no one is certain if this is truth or just another rumor spread to strike fear in the hearts of those who try to oppose him.

Donaldash, like Belald, surrounds himself with mercenaries, mages, and petty thieves. He also has an elaborate spy network made up of beggars that spreads all across the city. Donald has 3 adopted children: Conor, Quinn, and Feylin.

Northside of Bizmar:

The Northside of Bizmar is where the Royal Imperial Chateau of the Aysealar government is located. The Aysealar race is a mixture of giant, barbarian and ogre. They are quite warlike in nature, and are among the fiercest of warriors when engaged in battle. They are towering in stature (some over 8" tall), wild-eyed in appearance and quite menacing when angered. Although the Aysealar's have human mages in their court, they themselves have little talent for magic. They love the sea and have some of the best sailing vessels in the world of Variance.

This section of the city harbors less criminals and an occasional city guard patrol can be seen roaming the steets trying to keep the peace. (although many can be bribed to turn their heads of course) Also found here are the mansions of the rich people of the city who keep their property surrounded by vicious guard dogs, hired mercenaries or expensive warding spells offered for sale by the many mages who also reside here.

Family members include Il'Choo and his wife Nishi. They have five sons; Wang,Kembutsu, Motoharu, Nichu, and Kubikon as well as one daughter, Takei. Wang, the eldest son, runs a martial arts school in the city center, where he teaches a watered-down version of jujitsu to anyone willing to pay for lessons. Il'Choo's brother Akida also lives with them, but he is thought of as eccentric and ignored by most of the family.

Torin Deathsmask: He is the head of Bizmar's thief/assassin guild, which has its secret location somewhere in the city center. Torin owns many business establishments located throughout the city such as a pawn shoppe, locksmith shoppe, and a servant agency. His parents were killed by werecreatures which left Torin with an overwhelming hatred of the race. He wanders the city in various disguises, picking up information and killing werecreatures for sport.

The Drow Society: It is a well known fact that the evil dark elves roam the city freely, always willing to cause more havoc and dissention amongst its citizens. Rumor has it that there is a secret entrance to their underground city somewhere far to the east of the city center, but if anyone has ever been there they have never spoken about it, for fear of death. Some say the drow kidnap the defenseless of Bizmar and sacrifice them up to Lolth, their beloved demon spider queen.
