Treasure hunt

Marz looked down at the plate of food the pretty barmaid set on the table. His stomach did a crazy flip-flop when he saw a small pile of fried locust sitting alongside of two scrambled eggs. That's the breakfast special? How in bloody hell could the people of Neromba eat such crap? Just the other day he almost puked after watching a guy chow down on some scorpions. There were a lot of things he liked about Neromba, but the food wasn't one of them.

As soon as the barmaid walked away, Marz dumped the fried locust under his table. In less than a minute one of the dogs roaming around the inn wandered over to gobble down the discarded food. At least one of us will have a full stomach. He scratched behind the dog's ears then chuckled when the animal moved off to continue scavenging.

Marz pulled out the map he'd gotten from an urchin in exchange for candy and spread it out on the table. He stared at the X marked over the word temple while scarfing down the eggs that remained on his plate. The urchin told him that the temple was a part of some ruins located about a days journey from Fayhas, the city he was in now. According to rumors, the temple held great treasure but nobody had worked up the courage to explore the place yet since supposedly it was haunted. Most Nerombians were extremely superstitious and wouldn't dare risk pissing off a ghost.

If Marz were sitting in Bizmar right now he'd be sharing a laugh with his gang members over the idea of ghosts and goblins. But Neromba wasn't anything at all like the nation of Loris. He'd seen some pretty strange things during his two months in Fayhas so nothing seemed too farfetched anymore.

He pushed his empty plate away and reached for the mug of very strong java. His brow furrowed in thought as he sipped the hot liquid. I need to find me a crew. Several minutes later he tacked up a paper on one of the pillars running down the middle of the inn.

WANTED

Brave people to help me explore some ruins said to hold great treasure.
Must not be afraid of ghosts.

If interested, ask the barmaid to direct you to Marz Nightcrawler.

Marz refilled his java mug from the pot on the table and waited to see if anyone would answer his ad.

OOC: I'm starting Marz as a brand new character since this is a brand new board. biggrin  Anyone is welcome to join in on this little treasure-hunting quest. I don't have any set idea in mind. We can make things up as we go along.
